Have you made any New Year’s resolutions? New Year’s resolutions are promises of things you want to accomplish throughout the new year. Some people choose losing weight or quitting bad habits such as leaving dirty dishes in the sink (sorry, honey!). I hope your New Year’s resolutions involve practicing English. Here are some ways you can begin…

  • Find a native English partner to practice with. You can find them easily on your favorite social networking sites.
  • Turn off the subtitles when you watch movies in English. Click here for a vlog explaining why.
  • Take tutoring sessions.
  • Watch You Tube.
  • Read a novel in English that you have already read in your first language.
  • Listen in on or participate in conversations on Skype.

Enough technology exists now for you to not have any room for excuses. Now all you need is the right motivation. What better time is there to start than the first day of the new year?
